How accurate is the ES16 Tour Plus?
What data does the ES16 Tour Plus capture?
This is a full set of data parameters you would find on more expensive, commercial launch monitors.
Like SkyTrak, the ES Tour Plus needs less room as it sits next to the ball and not behind it. You just need enough room to swing a club.
How much space to I need for the ES16 Tour Plus?
The launch monitor comes with the free Ernest Sports app to provide additional shot data.
This allows the user to select their distance to the pin and see live ball flight while additional graphs show ball flight from an aerial and lateral perspective. You can analyse your range session by viewing club averages, shot dispersion, shot shape and individual shot statistics.
The unit is Bluetooth compatible with iOS and Android devices.
Compatible third party software that we recommend:
To play rounds of golf, we strongly recommend TGC2019 (The Golf Club 2019). This is our top of the range software, with over 150,000 courses including Pebble Beach, Augusta, St Andrews etc. This option allows up to four golfers at a time to play rounds off varying tees so that appropriate options can be selected depending on age, gender or ability. TGC 2019 is a one-off payment of $1544 for a lifetime subscription. TGC 2019 also requires a high spec gaming computer with at least the following specifications.
- OS: Windows 7/10 64Bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3/i5/i7 @ 3.20GHz or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVidia GTX 1050TI (or better), for 4K NVidia GTX 1080 (or better)
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection (Required)
- Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
- Sound Card: DirectX 11 compatible
E6 Connect is PC/iOS compatible.
What is the ongoing cost of the ES16 Tour Plus?
Ernest Sports basic app is free.
Yes. However, unlike the FlightScope Mevo+ it is for indoor use only. This is because, similar to the SkyTrak, the infra-red camera does not work outdoors as reflection makes the ball tracking too difficult.
