Portable Golf Simulators

Portable Golf Simulators

In terms of portable golf simulators lets first look at Flightscopes Mevo+ unit which has been our biggest seller here at 24/7 golf during 2020.

Obviously, the overall size of the unit is a big key to how lightweight and portable it is and with Mevo + it’s easily compact enough to fit into a pocket of your golf bag. It also come with its own handy carry/protection case, to make sure this valuable tool is not damaged.

Now if you want to just be able to get it out during a warm-up session before you tee off, or to capture some data from a few tee shots during a practice round you also need to know you can set it up quickly, which once you’ve done it a couple of times, is a very fast process with the Mevo+.

Of course, another consideration is how long the battery will last for? Especially pertinent if you are a tour player practicing for long periods, or a teaching pro and you might not have an opportunity to re-charge the unit between lessons. Well you’ve got a solid 2 hours with Mevo+ and 1.5 house if you’re in simulator play mode. You can also team it up with our Solar Bank battery pack to extend your battery life even further.

The question is, does this small, lightweight, portable unit compromise your data gathering capabilities in any way?
Certainly not – just look at how many parameters this remarkable unit captures:

  • Carry distance
  • Club Head Speed
  • Ball speed
  • Smash Factor
  • Spin rate
  • Angle of Attack
  • Spin axis
  • Spin Loft
  • Horizontal Launch Angle
  • Vertical Launch Angle

  • Roll distance
  • Apex Height
  • Flight Time

That’s enough data feedback to satisfy golfers on every level!

So you’ve got this super portable unit, now how are you going to display your numbers. The good news is that
the Mevo+ connects up wirelessly through wi-fi to your phone and all
your results can be displayed on the Flightscope Golf app, and the
Flightscope Skills app, plus saved for later viewing at your leisure.

Even if you’re going around to a mate’s place, as long as they have
something you can hit balls into, and you can get in minutes be having a
game against each other on one of the five courses that comes built
into Mevo+, or be working on your games together in a range session.

Have you ever walked away from a lesson with your pro wishing you had
all your ball-flight data from before and after changes? Usually you’re
dependent on what the pro wants to send, but if you take your Mevo+
along you can capture your own data, plus hare it with your teacher on
the spot, or send to them post lesson.

FlightScope X3

The Flightscope X3 model is still very portable, although, due to being higher up the price range, is generally seen in more commercial settings and used by leading golf coaches and club fitting specialists.

You will see 2020 US Open winner Bryson DeChambeau using his X3 on the range at tour events. It is easy and quick to set-up and comes in a protective carry case.

It works with later model iOS devices (iPad and iPhone) and the FlightScope apps work on newer Android devices.

With this data, the software is also able to accurately provide:

  • Carry/Total distance
  • Offline
  • Roll
  • Flight path
  • Club head speed
  • Angle of descent

SkyTrak can be teamed up with software interfaces though apps for phone and iPads. The system has an internal battery providing more than four hours of use when fully charged and wirelessly connect your device.

Technically, it can be used outdoors on a mat (not off grass) so long as you can avoid direct sunlight which can interfere with its camera and ultimately, the accuracy of your numbers. We recommend indoor use only.
